For the first day, I made mini Christmas trees. My roommate Ellie and I have seriously filled our room to the brim and used all our space so we can't fit a pre-lit fake Christmas tree. But both of us love trees. So, we made a few trees that are from 6" to 12" tall. We used foam cones and covered them with garland, feathers, string, and split peas to make them super festive.
What you need:
6" or 12" foam cones (buy here)
thin garland, festive ribbon/string, split peas, feathers, or anything else you think would look good
bells, bows, or any other round decoration
styrofoam (optional, Ellie's foam cones shedded a little but mine were hard enough that I didn't need to cover the bottom)
How to make it:
Hot glue the beginning of your decoration to the cone and wrap upwards, keeping them tight together so you don't see the styrofoam behind it. Finish off with a bow, bell, or some other round decoration. And that's it! They're super easy to make it and I love the way they look in our room!
