It's the middle of the fall season and we're quickly heading towards winter. Obviously one of my favorite pastimes is shopping (much to the dismay of Ryan) so I am constantly taking in all the new lines and styles. These are a few of my favorite trends that I'm seeing that I can't wait to get in my own closet.
Blazers, loafers, long coats, sophisticated style, it's all coming back quick to take over not just offices but the streets as well. Think mid-2000s when girls were wearing ties as belts, like that, but classier.
Velvet, faux leather, satin, you name it we have it in metallic. These colors are so fabulous and really seem to have found their home in winter. Add a bulky wool sweater to a pair of metallic velvet pants or just go with one metallic party dress to wow everyone at Thanksgiving.
Warm earthy tones make this trend super approachable and flattering on so many people. Suede and leather are perfect for this trend, making you feel like a real life cowgirl. Statement jackets are so fun to wear, go crazy and pair it with denim and leather boots to balance it out.
I have no words except I need all of these in my life. RIGHT NOW.
This color is perfect for fall because it goes with any forest color you can think of! I love my camel cable knit sweater but this is the kind of sweater that you can get in any material and it will look great.
We all have a cardigan in our closet right now, whether it's long or short or bulky or not, it is perfect for layering for fall. Add a bulky scarf on blustery days or a light tshirt on warmer days it is a great choice to wear and always look stylish.
I feel like I don't even need to say this one? Booties are the best, duh. They are THE fall shoe. It's finally cool enough to wear closed toe shoes and warm enough that you don't have to worry about your feet freezing. Get your flat pair out to wear everyday and your heeled pair to dress up an outfit.
Perfect with a pair of black jeans and a bulky sweater, jean jackets are the ultimate fall jacket.
Red flannels. Green flannels. Blue flannels. Black and white flannels. Wear all the flannels. It literally could not get simpler. A nice pair of jeans, booties, and a flannel is like THE fall uniform every year.
I wear vests on the daily. They're great for not being too warm or too cold, but keeping you at a very regulated temperature. They're definitely a personal preference as Lauren is telling me right now that she doesn't like vests because her arms get cold. If your arms get cold too, be like Lauren, and suffer through it and complain the whole time.
A wonderful boot to wear in the fall, on those dreary rainy days where there is mud aplenty, duck boots are the best for keeping your feet warm and dry. Another alternative would be Hunter style boots, but my Bean boots are my favorite cold weather footwear. (I have two pairs).
Can summer just go away already?? It is September 26th and I am MELTING in this heat. Anyone else just want to be wearing their cute sweaters, booties, and jeans? I have also decided to boycott shorts because shorts should not be worn this late into September. It is FALL and I want to fulfill my basic-ness and drink warm lattes, get cozy in sweaters, and wear closed toed shoes.
Alas, it is still 90 degrees out today. And it looks like the temp is going to be hanging out in the mid-80's for the next few weeks. So, if you're in a literal heat wave like me, I'm going to help you figure out how to dress for fall in this disgusting weather.
Wearing your hair down might be a stretch, but this super cute maroon skirt from Target is perfect for this hot weather. Corduroy skirts are totally in right now and it's a great fall material. Pairing it with a simple white tee makes it cool and light without sweating your butt off. I'm wearing my favorite Franco Sarto booties to bring in a little bit more fall but they aren't overwhelming.
My best advice for transitioning from summer to fall when it is hot as hell is to focus on colors and materials. I know you don't want to be wearing thick wool even though it looks suuuper cute, but maybe go for some leather details or suede shoes. Like I utilized corduroy, you can use different kinds of material to make a look more fall.
And purple/maroon (two very different colors I know), seem to be the color of fall every year. So grab your deep forest colors, think browns and deep greens and navys, and try to work them into your warm fall outfits!
Disclaimer: I had to learn how to spell corduroy to be able to write this post. Definitely will forget promptly.
My favorite trend is here. The bomber jacket. It's cool, it can be edgy, it can be sweet, it can be whatever you want it to be but it will always be a bomb look. I am honestly surprised I don't have like, 20, but hey my bank account can only go so low. These jackets look good on so many different body types and they're so versatile to any style. They're like the chameleon of outerwear. Oh also you can get light bombers for the fall ( like mine) or you can get heavy ones for winter!! BOMBER JACKETS FOR EVERYONE!!
If I were Oprah I would have all my readers look under their chairs rn and pull out a jacket. Alas, I am not Oprah and you have to settle for looking at these pictures (and following the links to buy your own).
I had my best friend Lauren take my pictures for me and let me tell you- having your best friend take your pictures is amazing because she knew all my good angles and was just complimenting me the whole time. It was so great.
I put my deep green jacket with dark wash jeans and a white tshirt so the jacket was the main focus of the outfit. It's definitely a statement piece with the large flowers and velvet material. I added my favorite Free People bra underneath to add a layer of dainty lace; the green bomber can look masculine but the flower appliques and lace peeking out makes it much more feminine.

Ask any girl from the age of 18-29 what her favorite season is and chances are, it's fall. Fall is the best because it's not too hot anymore but it's not cold enough that you can't stand spending more than 15 minutes outside. Also the shoes are my favorite. I got these for back to school and now that it's September I can't wait to start wearing them!

Vince Camuto makes my favorite shoes ever. Literally every pair is so comfy and lasts forever and looks adorable. I will swear on Vince Camuto till the day I die because I just love their shoes so much. These are no exception! I looooove these black booties with the low cut out that makes them just a little different.

You ever have one of those days that's just, one of those days? You wake up, think everything is going to go great, then life smacks you in the face like "SUCKAHHH!!". Yup, one of THOSE days.
Well here's how my day has gone so far, as of 9:00 AM when I am writing this.
4:55 AM I wake up, brush my teeth, throw on barre clothes, and get in my car.
5:20 AM Drive away with purse, lunch bag, and gym bag holding work clothes for after barre.
6:00 AM I get to barre class and jump right in, there is lots of sweating today because damnit I WORK IT.
6:55 AM Get out of barre, feeling GREAT. I was energized, happily sore, and ready to SEIZE THE DAY.
7:00 AM I get into the bathroom to change, wash my face, and use some dry shampoo before I head over to work. I start to get changed into my salmon pants and white tee I freeze as I realize... I didn't bring a normal bra.
7:03 AM Standing there, in my sweaty grey Lulu top, red Nike sports bra, maroon leggings (hey I didn't do laundry yet this week don't judge), I am PANICKING. I am 40 minutes away from home- there is NO way I will drive all the way back, change, then fight traffic coming back to work during rush hour. I throw the salmon pants on, white tee over the red sports bra, my ratty grey sweatshirt on over that to hide my shame, and run out to my car.
7:04 AM I drive across the parking lot to Wegman's with the slightest hope that they would have something that could work- anything. And now I call Mom. Mom always knows what to do. I'm wandering around Wegman's when she answers and I tell her what's happening and she's LAUGHING AT ME. In her ever helpful way, she tells me why I made a mistake instead of first telling me how to fix it, by saying "Well, you were Facetime-ing Ryan as you were packing up last night and he must have distracted you!" Helpful. I remember that my cousin, who I work with, lives in Burlington and I start frantically texting her.
7:07 AM Mom and I decide that wearing my white tee over my grey tank top with the red sports bra is better than nothing.
7:10 AM I leave Wegman's empty handed and head over to Pressed Cafe to grab a smoothie to help me think.
7:15 AM I arrive at Pressed with the thought that they might have tshirts in their store... I was desperate okay??
7:20 AM I start googling stores around me that are open at 7:20 AM. I was right next to the biggest shopping mall on the Northshore but they didn't open until TEN AM.
7:25 AM Mom finally comes up with a solution. "Try Target, Walmart... is there a CVS around?" I checked Google: 10 am, 12 miles away, and... Open and 1 mile away!
7:35 AM Arrive at CVS, start scouring the aisles. I go through every single aisle, up and down until finally, I see "L'eggs" in the very very back corner of the store. I go over, and I see it- a black Hanes women's tee. And then to my surprise, a black Hanes sports bra too! I snag both and run up to the counter to check out.
8:05 AM Finally get to work, (thanks to all the construction everywhere), change, put some makeup on, dig a necklace out from the bottom of my purse, and I have saved the day.
I'm actually kind of glad this all happened to me. It was one of those moments that made me use my problem solving skills (before I found the shirts in CVS I was imagining wrapping my sports bra in gauze to make it look white), I learned that CVS carries some tshirts in case of emergencies, and my outfit is even cuter than I had planned. Plus- added bonus of being in the comfort of a sports bra all day too! Sign me up!
The moral of the story is that no matter how bad your day can be going, you can always turn it around. We all have bad days- that is not something people get exempt from! The people who you think are so perfect are not, in fact, all perfect. So don't put so much pressure on yourself to be perfect or to be someone you are not. Perfection isn't what you need to be worrying about, it's how you come back when you're down, or make a mistake, or are just having one of those days.
I know- it's July 18th. Believe me I KNOW how hot it is out. But with the Nordstrom sale and going back to school in a few weeks, I'm itching to get my fall outfits going! I miss big sweaters, booties, and cute jackets, and I'm so sick of shorts. So when I picked this outfit up at the NSale, I just had to wear it out! Portsmouth, NH is right on the water so when the sun is starting to go down, it cools down enough to wear jeans, and this button down is so light and airy that I was super comfortable. This outfit will be perfect for being back at school when you're running between classes into cold classrooms.
Also- I apologize for my white converse being so dirty... it's time for a new pair and Ryan and I went ATV'ing. He thought it was hilarious to drive through huge puddles and splash me but I thought it was hilarious because he was in front of me and blocked most of the mud and water!
Happy Tuesday everyone! Now get out there and start picking out your favorite fall outfits ;)
Comfort is so important to me. I am willing to compromise a bit when I have a special event and special heels that I know I won't be wearing for more than 6 hours, but every other time, I, just like every other sane person, enjoys a nice squishy soft sneaker. Tretorn's have my heart.
When you fist look at these, you might think they are stiff and make you super tall because of the platform but do not be fooled!! I swear the entire platform is comfort, and they really don't add a ton of height (tall girls rejoice!).
Espadrilles are trending right now, and I'm all about them. I love the look of the sandals but going into the fall soon, I didn't want to limit myself by having open toed shoes. Plus the look of the espadrille sneaker is unique and the pink adds a nice feminine flair to the rougher soles. The body of the sneaker is suede, one of my favorites, and is perforated so your feet aren't dying hot all day (which is SO nice).
I also wear these to work a ton- they look great with jeans, army green pants, and pastel chinos. They are a great way to wear a more stylish sneaker at work without looking lazy! I'll definitely be wearing these to class all the time in the fall, when I usually wear jeans to class with a cute top. (Are you even a girl if you don't say "jeans and a cute top" when someone asks what you're wearing out?)
I'll say it again and I'll keep saying it, I want to wear these everyday. They're cute, casual, and the fun pink just makes me happy.
Also, I am really interested to know what people from different places call these shoes; I call them sneakers because East Coast but going to school in the Midwest, I know other people call them tennis shoes? Or trainers? Let me know in the comments!
Okay it is safe to say that I am crazy about these pants. Talk about super fun, cool, and casual!! They're from Old Navy and I seriously could not be happier about them. I'm wearing a size small (and honestly could have gotten an extra small), and they're just the right size to be flowy, cool, and super comfy.
If we are being honest- it's like wearing pajamas out in public and it being totally acceptable, so basically, my dream. They're pretty versatile too, I would say that you could dress these up super easy if you have platform wedges or espadrille sandals to make them not drag on the ground too much if you're vertically challenged like I am, and a nice silk or satin shirt would compliment the linen well to make it nicer!
I paired these with my favorite white v-neck from J. Crew, it's super light and fits pretty much anyone perfectly. My flip flips are just simple leather, Olukai brand, which by the way are SO comfortable and great for your feet. Any white sneaker or brown leather sandal would look super cute with these!
Have an amazing Tuesday everyone! And stay comfy :)

Sometimes, we need a little color in our lives. Things get tough, we feel down, and everything seems dark. But when you find something as perfect and bright as these little earrings that make you feel happy. They're hot pink and make every outfit instantly sunnier and more fun.
The hot pink adds a fun pop of color to any outfit, whether you are dressing up a simple white tee or making a black dress more casual, they are super versatile.
Recently I have been in a funk with The Front Paige. I feel the need for change, and I'm not sure where that is going to come from. Fashion has always been one of my strongest passions, and a new outfit always has the ability to hit refresh on my life- it's like a new look on life. A new outfit has the power to make you feel so much better about yourself and so confident because you know you look FLY AS HELL.
This skirt has such a fun look too- the frayed uneven hem is fresh and unexpected. Everyone is wearing denim skirts right now, and I love them, but it doesn't hurt to stand out a bit too ;) .
So maybe if you're feeling in a funk, a new outfit is the way to go. It gives you a boost of self confidence, a fresh look, and a new attitude to attack the day with.
How do you guys deal with a long funk? Let me know in the comments below!
