You ever have one of those days that's just, one of those days? You wake up, think everything is going to go great, then life smacks you in the face like "SUCKAHHH!!". Yup, one of THOSE days.
Well here's how my day has gone so far, as of 9:00 AM when I am writing this.
4:55 AM I wake up, brush my teeth, throw on barre clothes, and get in my car.
5:20 AM Drive away with purse, lunch bag, and gym bag holding work clothes for after barre.
6:00 AM I get to barre class and jump right in, there is lots of sweating today because damnit I WORK IT.
6:55 AM Get out of barre, feeling GREAT. I was energized, happily sore, and ready to SEIZE THE DAY.
7:00 AM I get into the bathroom to change, wash my face, and use some dry shampoo before I head over to work. I start to get changed into my salmon pants and white tee I freeze as I realize... I didn't bring a normal bra.
7:03 AM Standing there, in my sweaty grey Lulu top, red Nike sports bra, maroon leggings (hey I didn't do laundry yet this week don't judge), I am PANICKING. I am 40 minutes away from home- there is NO way I will drive all the way back, change, then fight traffic coming back to work during rush hour. I throw the salmon pants on, white tee over the red sports bra, my ratty grey sweatshirt on over that to hide my shame, and run out to my car.
7:04 AM I drive across the parking lot to Wegman's with the slightest hope that they would have something that could work- anything. And now I call Mom. Mom always knows what to do. I'm wandering around Wegman's when she answers and I tell her what's happening and she's LAUGHING AT ME. In her ever helpful way, she tells me why I made a mistake instead of first telling me how to fix it, by saying "Well, you were Facetime-ing Ryan as you were packing up last night and he must have distracted you!" Helpful. I remember that my cousin, who I work with, lives in Burlington and I start frantically texting her.
7:07 AM Mom and I decide that wearing my white tee over my grey tank top with the red sports bra is better than nothing.

7:10 AM I leave Wegman's empty handed and head over to Pressed Cafe to grab a smoothie to help me think.
7:15 AM I arrive at Pressed with the thought that they might have tshirts in their store... I was desperate okay??
7:20 AM I start googling stores around me that are open at 7:20 AM. I was right next to the biggest shopping mall on the Northshore but they didn't open until TEN AM.
7:25 AM Mom finally comes up with a solution. "Try Target, Walmart... is there a CVS around?" I checked Google: 10 am, 12 miles away, and... Open and 1 mile away!
7:35 AM Arrive at CVS, start scouring the aisles. I go through every single aisle, up and down until finally, I see "L'eggs" in the very very back corner of the store. I go over, and I see it- a black Hanes women's tee. And then to my surprise, a black Hanes sports bra too! I snag both and run up to the counter to check out.
8:05 AM Finally get to work, (thanks to all the construction everywhere), change, put some makeup on, dig a necklace out from the bottom of my purse, and I have saved the day.

I'm actually kind of glad this all happened to me. It was one of those moments that made me use my problem solving skills (before I found the shirts in CVS I was imagining wrapping my sports bra in gauze to make it look white), I learned that CVS carries some tshirts in case of emergencies, and my outfit is even cuter than I had planned. Plus- added bonus of being in the comfort of a sports bra all day too! Sign me up!
The moral of the story is that no matter how bad your day can be going, you can always turn it around. We all have bad days- that is not something people get exempt from! The people who you think are so perfect are not, in fact, all perfect. So don't put so much pressure on yourself to be perfect or to be someone you are not. Perfection isn't what you need to be worrying about, it's how you come back when you're down, or make a mistake, or are just having one of those days.
